Just popped in Animal Crossing, after much resistance.
My town is named Alistair, and my name is Sadie.
A duck named Joey greeted me.
After talking to my neighbors, a frog named Ribbot asked where I’d been for the past 35 months.
A cat named Tabby told me it’s been 151 weeks since I last talked to him.
How on earth do I sleep for 10-12 hours every night.
HOW.
Growing up, I was consistently Rachel, or some varying nickname from that.
In the seventh grade, however, a couple of my friends at the time thought it would be cool to call me by my online username- ‘MichiFishy’, or, just Michi. This stuck with a few people who met me during that time. I think I was often mistaken for ‘Michelle’ because of it.
In the eighth grade, I shared a history class with another Rachel S. I lazily scrawled RSAU on most of my papers because of that. Sometimes, I would be called RSau, and eventually, just Saunders to ease the confusion.
In the ninth grade, when I cut all my hair off, a few girls started calling me ‘Peter Pan’ and still call me Peter.
In my Sophomore year of high school, most of my teachers just called me Saunders. My favorite teacher called me ‘Miss Saunders’. I once explained to him, in an essay, that I didn’t like my first name and preferred my middle name.
By my senior year of high school, and based on a quote from a friend, I had grown fond of Rache as a nickname, but mainly stuck to Rachel.
When I entered college, I decided to go by my middle name, Sadie. I ran into a few people (such as Steph Liddi) who I introduced myself as Rachel to at first. Regardless, I tried to stick with it, and it works.
I’ve never found it weird to adapt to a new nickname. Sometimes people ask me if I am, and are astounded I was only ‘Sadie’ until this year, or ask me if they should call me Rachel over Sadie, or Sadie over Rachel, or Saunders, or Rache. I don’t care what you call me, as long as it’s my name.
Heyyyy here’s a quick reference sheet for all my followers. Just a quick sketch of all the different eyes I use in my artwork.
Lemme know if you want a tutorial on any of these. They’re pretty unique and original so I’d understand if you need help trying to deconstruct my process.
I started cutting again.

I finally finished unpacking today.
